Gender selection is no longer a new concept and it is becoming one of the fastest-growing areas in which we specialise at Cyprus IVF Clinic.
We fully understand the preference for having one gender or the other and we are proud to be one of the only countries in the world legally able to offer this ground-breaking treatment.
How is it done – Gender selection ?
Gender selection at Cyprus IVF Clinic happens after the IVF process is complete. A procedure known as embryo biopsy takes place to determine the sex of each embryo. Embryo selection will follow and only embryos of the desired sex will then be transferred to the womb.
PGD ( pre-implantation genetic diagnosis ) also uses this technique. Embryos are screened to avoid a gender-related genetic disorder being passed on. However we do understand that for some families it is simply about preference. See our PGD page for more information on genetic screening.
How long does it take ?
Providing that monitoring and stimulation are done at home then the PGD treatment only requires you to stay in Cyprus for seven days. Dr Firdevs is highly experienced and very familiar with all the techniques used in this process. Her skill and knowledge mean that the success rate for PGD is more than 99.9%.
